Flashmobbers,
The reason all of us thought the flashmob was "spoiled" is because it didn't happen like we planned it. The more spectators I talk to, the more I realize it wasn't spoiled at all.
People walking through the square and surrounding areas had the weirdest 3 minutes of their life. Put yourself in their shoes:
Suddenly retards in skinny pants start yelling stuff through megaphones about freezing that doesn't make any sense (yet), then random tubas and instruments start to play nonsense outside of the HFAC, then a bunch of people around you freeze, while the emo on the bullhorn is yelling "DON'T FREEZE!"
Other things that were happening: ugly girls screaming (sorry to the guy that thought she was hot, she was ugly), people with cameras everywhere, nonsense from the bullhorn people...
It only appears "spoiled" to the people who were planning and hoping for the type of flashmob experience we anticipated.
Future operations won't be this big, or on facebook, so we won't have much of a problem with this in the future.
Kendall
ps, if it was such a "waste of time" to freeze, what justifies taking the time to find a megaphone and stand there yelling?
pps I'll post the vids tomorrow. I need some sleep.

Friday
reading the new york times this morning. came across an article about a 17 yrs. old german novelist [helene hegemann] who was nominated for a prestigious german literary award.
The book [axolotl roadkill] is about a young girl who explores berlin's underground club and drug scene after the death of her mother. the book is currently no. 5 on a german best-sellers list. however, this book has come under criticism by some- inciting blatant plagiarism from a less-well-known book [strobo]
when confronted, she replied:
'THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ORIGINALITY ANYMORE, JUST AUTHENTICITY'
i've found truth in this statement lately through certain people/media. i like this and will quote it as often as possible. i will tell people that i made it up [via my own plagiarism].

coco avant chanel
'coco avant chanel' @ the dollar theater tonight.
french film. english subtitles. audrey tautou.
the biographical story of the early beginnings of 'coco chanel' [the founder/designer of the fashion empire CHANEL]. ahead of her time, revolutionized the way women dress [should dress] focusing more on:
simplicity. androgyny. lose-fitting hues. modesty.
the story intriguing, yet uneventful. go for the costume/production design.
s'il vous plait et merci.
